UX and UI design_

We do UX and UI design for products that are going to be built: web apps, websites, e-commerce, mobile apps and games. Our designers sit with the engineers who ship the work, so you get screens that look right, work for every user and survive contact with real code.

// 01

What you get_

Design work that is planned with the build in mind.

01_

Product and UX design

User flows, information architecture and wireframes for systems people use every day, worked out before anyone writes code.

02_

UI design

Clean, on-brand screens for web, mobile and games, designed for the real content and data, not lorem ipsum.

03_

Clickable prototypes

Prototypes your team and your users can click through, so you test the idea before you pay to build it.

04_

Design systems

Shared components, colours, type and states that designers and developers both use, so new screens stay consistent.

05_

Accessibility built in

Interfaces designed for keyboard, screen reader and contrast needs. We build to Israel's IS 5568 accessibility standard.

06_

Multilingual and right-to-left

Layouts that work in several languages, including right-to-left Hebrew next to English, without breaking.

Sounds familiar?_

  • The design looked great in the presentation, then the built product looked nothing like it.
  • Your staff work around the system instead of in it, because the screens fight them.
  • Every new feature looks a little different, because there is no shared design system.
  • You need to meet an accessibility standard and are not sure your current site does.
  • Your site has to work in English and Hebrew, or for communities in several countries.

How UX and UI design works with Dino_

Good design is not the prettiest mockup in the deck. It is the screen that still makes sense with real data, a slow connection, a screen reader and a user who has never seen it before. That is easier to get right when the people designing it also build it.

Design that engineers ship

Most of the trouble in product design happens in the handoff. A designer draws a screen, a developer finds the data does not fit, and somebody quietly changes it. At Dino the designers and engineers are one team. Designers know what the code can do, and engineers raise problems while the design is still cheap to change.

You can see this in the work. JReady, a multilingual website we designed and developed for the Jewish Agency, gives communities around the world tools and information for emergencies. iGift is a custom e-commerce site for employee holiday gifts that we designed and built to very specific client requirements. 6 Degrees is a VR game we designed and developed to help people deal with phantom limb pain.

What we design

Systems people use all day

Business systems need clarity more than flair. For iBon, a platform for managing and monitoring companies in the food industry, the job was to replace clunky legacy systems with an interface people find intuitive. The Meet iBon story shows how that platform grew. The same goes for dashboards that show live data: the screen has to tell you what matters at a glance.

Products with a big audience

When a product serves hundreds of thousands of users, small UX choices matter. The Sport5 fantasy league got a modernised user experience as part of its rebuild, so fans can pick a team and follow live points without friction.

Interactive and playful interfaces

Games and interactive video need UI that feels alive. For Eko’s Timeline series we implemented the UI, logic and UI animation in Eko Studio, and the Walmart KidHQ experience let kids move between floors of toys and build a wishlist.

Accessibility is part of the job

Accessible design helps everyone: people using screen readers or keyboards, people with low vision, and anyone using a phone in bright sun. We design and build to Israel’s IS 5568 accessibility standard, which is based on the WCAG guidelines. In practice that means:

  • Real headings and labels, so screen readers can follow the page.
  • Every action reachable by keyboard, with a visible focus state.
  • Colour contrast checked on every component, including hover and disabled states.
  • Forms that explain errors in words, not only in red.

It is far cheaper to design this in from the first wireframe than to retrofit it later.

Languages and right-to-left

We work from Toronto and Tel Aviv, so English and Hebrew side by side is normal for us. Right-to-left layouts change more than text direction: icons, progress bars, tables and form layouts all need thought. JReady showed the wider version of this problem, one site serving communities in several countries.

How to choose a design partner

  • Ask to see a product they designed that is live today, not only concepts.
  • Ask who builds it after the design is approved, and how they stay involved.
  • Ask how they handle accessibility, and when in the process.
  • Ask to see the empty states and the error messages. That is where care shows.

Design is part of every build we do, from web development and mobile apps to custom software. If you have a product that needs a clearer face, show us what you have and we will tell you where we would start.

// 05

How we work_

  1. Understand

We talk to the people who will use it and look at the data it must show, the edge cases included.

  2. Flows

User flows and wireframes, agreed before visual design starts.

  3. Prototype

A clickable prototype you can test with your team and a few real users.

  4. UI and system

Final screens plus the components, states and rules developers need.

  5. Build together

Designers stay on during development and review what ships, screen by screen.

Questions people ask us_

Do you only design, or also build?

Our design work is done by the same team that builds the product, and that is the point. JReady for the Jewish Agency, iGift and 6 Degrees were all designed and developed by us. Tell us where you are, and we will tell you how we would start.

What is a design system and do we need one?

A design system is the shared set of components, colours, type and rules that every screen is built from. If your product will keep growing, or several people work on it, it saves time and keeps it consistent. For a single campaign page, it is usually overkill.

Can you make our product accessible?

We design and build to Israel's IS 5568 accessibility standard, which is based on the international WCAG guidelines. That means keyboard navigation, screen reader support, contrast and clear focus states, planned from the first wireframe rather than patched at the end.

Do you design for Hebrew and other right-to-left languages?

Yes. We work from Tel Aviv and Toronto, and design layouts that work in Hebrew and English. JReady was a multilingual website for Jewish communities around the world.

Why prototype before building?

A prototype costs a fraction of the build and answers the expensive questions early: does the flow make sense, is anything missing, will people use it. You change a prototype in hours, and a finished product in weeks.

What drives the cost of design work?

The number of user types and flows, how many screens and states there are, whether you need a full design system, user testing, and how many languages the interface supports. We scope it with you before we start.
