Custom software development_

DevDino is a custom software development company with offices in Toronto and Tel Aviv. We build the systems an operation runs on: web apps, platforms, real-time dashboards, admin panels and the integrations that tie them together. You get software that fits your process, and a team that stays after launch to keep it running.

What we build_

The systems clients ask us for most, and where we have built them.

01_

Web apps and platforms

Multi-user web applications with roles, permissions and the workflow your team follows every day. ibon, the food-industry platform, is one we have run from the first idea.

02_

Real-time dashboards

Live data from machines, feeds or public sources, turned into screens people act on. Netafim's OEE app and the N12 COVID-19 panel both work this way.

03_

Admin panels and back offices

The tools your staff use behind the scenes: editing, approvals, bookings, reporting. OnePager lets Keshet 12 control, edit and publish content efficiently.

04_

Integrations and APIs

Connect the systems you already pay for: payment gateways, CRMs, product catalogues, third-party data feeds. We write the APIs and the glue between them.

05_

Legacy rebuilds

Replace the old system everyone works around, without stopping the business. For Sport5 we rebuilt the Fantasy League platform from the ground up.

06_

Technical leadership

Need a CTO before you need a full team? We play that role for ibon, overseeing the technology and development from inception to scale.

// 02

Sounds familiar?_

  • Your operation runs on spreadsheets, email threads and the one person who knows how it all fits together.
  • Off-the-shelf software covers most of what you need, and the rest costs your team hours every week.
  • Your data lives in several systems, and no single screen shows what is happening right now.
  • A legacy system is slowing you down, but it is too important to switch off.
  • You have a product idea and need a technical partner who will own the build, not just bill hours.

How custom software development works with Dino_

Custom software is worth building when your process is the thing that sets you apart, or when you are paying for five tools that still need a spreadsheet to connect them. That is the work we do: systems that sit at the centre of an operation and have to be right every day.

What custom software development means here

We build four kinds of system, often in the same project:

  • Web apps and platforms with user roles, permissions and workflow logic.
  • Real-time dashboards that turn live data into decisions.
  • Admin panels and back offices that let non-technical staff run the product.
  • Integrations between your new system and the ones you already have.

We design, build, test and host the whole thing, then stay to maintain it. If the system needs AI features such as smart search or automated data pipelines, our AI development team builds them on the same foundations. If customer data is at the centre, see CRM development.

Systems we have built and still run

ibon: a platform for the food industry

ibon manages and monitors food-industry operations: real-time inventory tracking, production lifecycle management and regulatory compliance. We have been involved since the first idea and act as its CTO. Aroma Espresso Bar uses it in over 80 branches and, for the last 3.5 years, has rolled it out in every new branch it opens. The full story is in Meet ibon.

Netafim: real-time OEE on the factory floor

For Netafim we built a web-based OEE application that turns raw manufacturing data into real-time views of production performance, so operations teams can spot bottlenecks while they are happening.

Keshet, Sport5 and N12: software under live load

Media is where software gets tested hardest. OnePager is the content tool we built, and keep building, for Keshet 12, so editors can control, edit and publish quickly. For Sport5 we rebuilt the Fantasy League platform from the ground up, with live data feeds turning real goals into real-time points. The N12 COVID-19 panel, built in .NET, pulled live data from several sources, including the Israeli health ministry. See the wider Keshet use case.

Car-Pay and Wiser

At Car-Pay we are the tech backbone of a platform built from the ground up to make buying and selling a car safer from fraud. Wiser is a business management platform shaped around the hospitality sector.

Choosing a software development company

Whether you search for a software development company in Toronto or a software development company in Israel, the shortlist questions are the same:

Ask Why it matters
Have they built a system like yours, and is it still running? Launch is easy. Year three is the test.
Who will actually write the code? You want the team you met, not a subcontractor.
How do they handle scope changes? They will happen. A clear process beats a long contract.
What happens after launch? Maintenance, hosting and new features need an owner.
Can they work in your time zone? Decisions stall when nobody is awake at the same time.

We answer the last one with two offices, in Toronto and Tel Aviv, and one team behind both. Read more on how a Toronto and Tel Aviv team works, or, for Hebrew, see פיתוח תוכנה. If you want a long-term technical owner rather than a one-off build, look at our technology partner service.

What drives scope and cost

Four things move the estimate most: the number of user roles and workflows, the number of integrations, how much data has to update in real time, and how much of the system must be ready for the first release. We scope those with you, then propose a first release that solves your most expensive problem. Our name is Dino, but nothing about the stack is prehistoric.

Tell us what your team is working around today, and we will tell you what we would build first.

How we work_

  1. Discovery

We map the workflow, the users and the data before anyone writes code. You get a scope you can read and question.

  2. Architecture

Stack, data model and integrations chosen for the load you expect next year, not just on launch day.

  3. Build in cycles

Short cycles with working builds on a staging server, so you click through real software, not slides.

  4. Test and launch

QA with real roles and realistic data, then a planned go-live with a way back if anything misbehaves.

  5. Run and improve

Monitoring, fixes and new features. Keshet and ibon have kept us on for years, not weeks.

Questions people ask us_

How much does custom software development cost?

It depends on four things: how many user roles and workflows the system has, how many other systems it must talk to, how much data moves in real time, and how polished the first release needs to be. We scope those with you first, then quote the work. A smaller first release that solves the most expensive problem is usually the best place to start.

How long does it take to build custom software?

A focused first version takes far less time than a system that tries to do everything on day one. We split the work into releases, so your team uses real software early and later releases follow what they actually need. You get a timeline with the scope, before the build starts.

Should we build custom software or buy an off-the-shelf product?

Buy when a product covers your process and the gaps are small. Build when the process is what sets you apart, when you are paying for several tools that do not talk to each other, or when licences grow faster than the value. Our guide on custom versus off-the-shelf walks through the same decision for CRMs.

Are you a software development company in Toronto or in Israel?

Both. We have offices in Toronto and Tel Aviv, and we have delivered projects for clients in Israel, Canada, the USA, Europe and Australia. You work with one team, with a local office in your time zone.

Can you take over or rebuild an existing system?

Yes. We start by reviewing the code, the hosting and the data, then tell you plainly what to keep, what to fix and what to rebuild. For Sport5 the answer was a full rebuild of the Fantasy League platform, with live data feeds for real-time scoring.

Do you support the software after launch?

Yes, and most of our long relationships started as a single project. Keshet and DevDino have worked together for more than five years, and we have acted as ibon's CTO since the platform's first idea.

What technologies do you use?

Our delivered systems run on .NET and ASP.NET MVC, Angular and NodeJS, among others. We pick the stack for your load, your team and who will maintain it, and we explain the choice in the scope.
