Your technology partner (fractional CTO)_

A fractional CTO and technology partner for founders and companies without an in-house tech lead. We own the technical side with you: architecture, roadmap, vendors, security and the team that builds it. We did it for ibon from the first idea, and we have worked with Keshet for over five years.

What a technology partner does_

01_

Technical leadership

A senior tech lead in your management meetings, turning business goals into technical decisions and talking you out of the expensive ones you do not need.

02_

Roadmap and architecture

A product and technical roadmap you can show investors and a board, on an architecture that will still make sense when you are much bigger.

03_

A team that builds

Designers, developers and QA from our Toronto and Tel Aviv offices ship the roadmap, so the strategy does not stop at a slide deck.

04_

Vendors and stack

Independent advice on cloud, SaaS, agencies and AI tools. We read the proposals and contracts and tell you plainly what is worth paying for.

05_

Security, scale and uptime

Monitoring, backups, access control and performance work, so traffic spikes and security questionnaires are routine instead of emergencies.

06_

Hiring and handover

When you are ready for in-house engineers, we help define the roles, interview candidates and hand over a codebase that is documented and clean.

// 02

Sounds familiar?_

  • You are a founder with a product idea and no technical co-founder.
  • Your developers are good, but nobody owns architecture, security or the roadmap.
  • An agency built version one, moved on, and now every change is slow and risky.
  • Investors or the board ask technical questions you would rather someone else answered.
  • You are about to choose a platform, vendor or AI tool and want an opinion from someone who is not selling it.

What a fractional CTO from Dino looks like_

A CTO’s judgement, a whole team’s hands

Most founders and growing companies face the same gap. The business depends on software, but nobody senior owns it. Hiring a full-time CTO is slow and expensive, a freelancer can only cover so much, and an agency on a fixed project leaves when the invoice is paid.

A technology partner closes that gap. You get a senior lead who sits on your side of the table, makes the technical calls and answers for them, plus designers, developers and QA who build what was decided. We act as your elite technology partner, moving beyond generic, off-the-shelf products, and we stay for as long as it helps.

From first idea to more than 80 branches: ibon

ibon is a platform for managing and monitoring companies in the food industry: real-time inventory tracking, production lifecycle management and strict regulatory compliance. We have been involved from its initial idea. In the words of our use case: “As CTOs, we’ve handled every aspect, overseeing the technology and development.”

The results are on the record. The ibon system has been used by over 80 Aroma branches, and for the last 3.5 years Aroma has implemented ibon in every new branch it has built. DevDino is still actively used as ibon’s CTO. That is what a technology partnership looks like when it works: one team carrying a product from idea to scale, and staying.

Over five years with Keshet

Keshet 12 is Israel’s biggest broadcasting channel, and we have worked with them for over five years. OnePager is deep software development we did, and still do, for Keshet 12, letting them control, edit and publish content efficiently. Along the way the work has covered a live COVID-19 data dashboard (Corona N12), the real-time elections site, mobile games such as Brain 12 and an AR game for Israel Ninja Warrior. Read the Keshet story.

Long partnerships like this are built on boring virtues: answering the phone during peak hours, keeping old systems healthy while building new ones, and knowing the codebase better than anyone.

The tech backbone behind a new product

For Car Pay, a platform that makes buying and selling a car safer from fraud, we are the development team behind a solution built from the ground up, and its tech backbone. Startups need exactly this: someone to design the system, build it, and keep it secure and reliable as real money flows through it.

When a fractional CTO is the right call

A fractional CTO is usually a good fit when:

  • you are a founder turning an idea into a first product and need someone to make the technical decisions with you;
  • you have developers but nobody senior owning architecture, security and the roadmap;
  • a previous agency or freelancer has left, and you need someone to audit and take over;
  • you are about to make a big platform, vendor or AI decision and want an independent view.

It is usually not the right fit if you already have a strong in-house CTO; in that case, our custom software development team can add capacity under their lead instead.

What to look for in a technology partner

Ask any candidate: Who exactly will be our tech lead, and will that person stay? Do you also build, or only advise? How will decisions be documented? Who owns the code and the accounts? How do you hand over when we hire in-house?

Our answers: a named senior lead, a team that builds, written decisions, full ownership on your side, and a clean handover whenever you are ready. With offices in Toronto and Tel Aviv, your product gets attention across two time zones (read more about our Toronto and Tel Aviv team). Planning a new product? Start with before you build an app, and if AI is on your roadmap, see AI implementation.

We may be dinosaurs, but we have survived every extinction event this industry has thrown at us. Tell us where your product is today, and we will tell you honestly how we can help.

How we work_

  1. Listen

    We learn the business, the product, the people and the code before recommending anything.

  2. Audit

    Codebase, infrastructure, costs, security and vendors reviewed, with a plain-language report of the risks.

  3. Plan

    A roadmap with priorities, cost drivers and a team plan, agreed with you.

  4. Build

    Our team delivers in short cycles, with your fractional CTO accountable for quality and dates.

  5. Stay

    Ongoing leadership for as long as it helps, and a clean handover when you hire in-house.

Questions people ask us_

What is a fractional CTO?

A senior technology leader who works with you part of the time instead of full time. They set the technical direction, make the architecture and vendor calls, and are accountable for delivery. With DevDino, the fractional CTO also comes with a team that builds, so decisions turn into working software.

Should we hire a full-time CTO instead?

Eventually, maybe. A full-time CTO makes sense once technology is a large, permanent part of the company and there is a team to lead. Before that point, a fractional CTO gives you senior judgement without the cost and risk of an early executive hire, and we can help you recruit your own CTO when the time comes.

Do you only advise, or do you also build?

Both. Advice without delivery is a slide deck. Our designers, developers and QA build what we plan, across custom software, mobile apps and AI implementation, and the same people stay accountable for how it runs.

How involved will you be?

As involved as the stage of your company needs. Early on that can mean weekly product and architecture sessions; later it may be roadmap reviews, vendor decisions and on-call support for the team. We agree the rhythm at the start and adjust it as you grow.

Can you take over a product another team built?

Yes. We start with an audit of the code, infrastructure and costs, tell you plainly what is solid and what is risky, and then stabilise before adding features. You get a written report either way, even if the answer is that your current setup is fine.

Who owns the code and the decisions?

You do. The code, accounts, infrastructure and documentation belong to your company, and every major decision is written down with the reasons behind it. If you part ways with us or hire in-house, nothing leaves with us.
